I've really enjoyed playing together with all my teammates. We get caught in a lot of wild situations but somehow, we manage to get through them [mostly] intact. Compared to my other campaigns, this one has a lighter tone and tends to be more humorous for the most part. Of course, now that I've said that we'll probably encounter something else that's horrifying.
PROs:
+ interesting world(s), lots to explore and discover. They're made with a lot of attention to detail and you can tell a lot of love was put into them. It's difficult to find homebrew that hits the sweetspot of "definitely different than a traditional campaign but still balanced enough to work with dnd". I think spec navigates this nicely as a DM.
+ fun NPCs, you get to interact with a lot of different ones because you're moving all over. We've met everyone from bookkeepers to royalty to gods to unknown scary entities in the blackest pits of the some creepy underground catacombs. One of our main NPCs, Iris- is pretty much the groups sarcastic little sister.
+ Having a good team and a good DM makes for an entertaining time.
CONs:
- Might be a con or pro depending on your perspective- While I do love the story, this particular story has so much to it. There's a lot of details that are initially minor seeming that appear to be more major that I thought. haven't quite figured out everything to it.
- I think we kinda were lacking on direction for a bit since our group goal was so broad and difficult to accomplish. "Yeet the All Mother" translates into a whole lot of headaches, and I think that we've gotten on a path where we're definitely getting closer towards said main goal. Lmfao here's hoping.
So overall: it's been a positive experience. Can't wait to see what will happen next week!
